Position Title: Special Education Teacher Assignment Location: Benton-Stearns Education District Anticipated Start Date: 2023-24 School Year Salary: Placement per the EdMN Benton-Stearns Master Agreement, based on education and experience, ranging from $52,086 - $102,475 Other Compensation: Paid professional development opportunities, health insurance, paid time off POSITION OVERVIEW: The Benton-Stearns Education District 6383 is seeking qualified applicants for full time (1.0) teaching positions for our Setting IV and residential programs. We have programs located in the Minnesota communities of Cold Spring, Sartell, and Sauk Rapids. QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates must have a valid Minnesota teaching license(s). Due to the nature of our programs, a licensure in special education (EBD, LD, DCD, ASD, or ABS) is preferred. Other teaching licenses will be considered based on applicants experience and ability to qualify for a Tiered License in special education. These positions will be responsible for development of positive behavioral interventions, classroom curriculum, case management and due process. The candidate will be expected to communicate effectively with parents, students, district staff, social workers, probation officers and co-workers. Individuals with an elementary education or middle school license with an interest in providing intensive, small group instruction are encouraged to apply. ABOUT US: At Benton Stearns, we serve students from our 6 member districts of: Foley, Holdingford, Kimball, Rocori, Sartell-St. Stephen, and Sauk Rapids-Rice. Students in our programs have been referred to us by their home districts due to needing extra support not available in the general education setting. Our programs support students with a variety of disabilities and significant social, emotional, and academic learning challenges in grades kindergarten to twelve plus. During their time at Benton Stearns, students learn life, social, and academic skills with the goal of reintegrating back to their home schools. We are relationship based and use positive support to increase motivation and decrease unexpected behaviors. We offer small class sizes with low adult to student ratios. Caseloads typically range from 6-10 students. Grafton is a therapeutic residential program located in Cold Spring, MN. Residents being served by Grafton require specialized support due to diagnoses of autism, cognitive impairments and various mental health diagnoses which require intensive educational services.
