Twin Cities International Schools are currently accepting applications for a Middle School Math and Science Teacher position for the upcoming 2026-27 school year. This position serves students in grades 6-8 within our newly established Innovation Academy, delivering a specialized curriculum focused on future-ready technologies including courses in engineering, coding, robotics and more. The Innovation Academy is designed for students who thrive with hands-on experimental STEM learning and aims to bridge the engagement gap through a supportive, small-class environment.
The position start date is August 16th, 2026. Applicants must currently hold a valid Minnesota teaching license in math and science or possess one and obtain an out of field permission in the other prior to the start date. We are a public charter school located in the North Loop of Minneapolis with a student enrollment of approximately 1,000 students (K-8.)
Responsibilities/Duties (Including but not limited to):
- Instructional Delivery: Plan and deliver rigorous, standards-based lessons in Mathematics and Life/Physical/Earth Science.
- Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Work collaboratively with the Middle School team to align curriculum and support integrated STEM learning.
- Student Engagement: Utilize hands-on lab experiments and mathematical problem-solving strategies to encourage a diverse student body.
- Inquiry-Based Learning: Foster a classroom environment that encourages scientific inquiry and mathematical reasoning.
- Differentiated Instruction: Adapt materials to meet the needs of all students, including English-Language Learners (ELL) and students with IEPs.
- Communication: Maintain regular and effective communication with parents, students and staff regarding academic growth.
- Technology Integration: Integrate digital tools inot daily lesson plans to enhance quantitative and scientific literacy.
- Other duties as assigned.
Salary is determined by experience and education, with the upcoming 2026-27 school year licensed employee salaries ranging from $47,568.18 to $85,922.88. Current Minnesota licensed Tier 3 or 4 teacher salary starts at $51,828.55. Additional salary amounts available for completed Master''s, Master''s + 60 credits, Ed.D. or Ph.D.
Additional benefits are also available for full-time employees, including medical and dental benefits (optional) and include coverage of employee, employee + 1 or family. Employee is responsible for a monthly insurance premium, depending on plan and coverage selected. Life Insurance/AD&D, along with Short-term and Long-term disability coverage, is provided by TCIS. Flex spending accounts for medical or dependent care are also available, but optional. TCIS requires enrollment in TRA (Teacher''s Retirement Association) retirement plan for all licensed employees.
