We are looking for a candidate who is ready to manage the daily complexities of a school building?from fostering a positive culture and managing student behavior to ensuring our district remains at the forefront of state mandates. The district will determine the final role (Building Principal or K-12 Assistant Principal) based on the candidate''s strengths and the strategic needs of the district following the interview process. Core Areas of Responsibility 1. Disciplinary Leadership & Culture School Safety: Establish and maintain a safe, orderly, and respectful learning environment. Consistent Accountability: Implement firm, fair, and consistent disciplinary practices that hold students accountable while maintaining positive relationships. Visibility: Maintain a high profile in classrooms, hallways, and the cafeteria to proactively engage with students and staff. 2. Regulatory & State Mandates The READ Act: Provide administrative oversight to ensure building-level compliance with Minnesota''s literacy mandates, including staff training and data reporting. Special Education (SPED): Serve as a key administrative representative in IEP and 504 meetings, ensuring all students receive required services and the district remains in legal compliance. Policy Implementation: Ensure all district, state, and federal policies are communicated and followed by staff and students. 3. Operational & Staff Leadership Personnel Management: Supervise, mentor, and evaluate staff members to ensure high-quality instruction and professional growth. Collaborative Support: Work closely with the High School Principal and Superintendent to align district-wide goals and initiatives. Community Relations: Act as a responsive and professional point of contact for parents and community stakeholders regarding school operations and student progress.
