Gateway STEM Academy Location: Saint Paul, MN Type: Full-Time School Year: 2026?2027 Position Summary Gateway STEM Academy, a K?8 charter school in Saint Paul, MN, is seeking a passionate and dedicated K?8 Physical Education Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will deliver engaging, standards-aligned physical education instruction that promotes fitness, teamwork, healthy lifestyles, and social-emotional development for all students. This role requires collaboration with classroom teachers, support of school-wide wellness initiatives, and a commitment to culturally responsive and student-centered instruction. Key Responsibilities Teach engaging, developmentally appropriate physical education lessons for students in grades K?8. Promote physical fitness, health, and wellness through a variety of sports, games, and movement activities. Foster teamwork, sportsmanship, and social-emotional growth in a positive and inclusive environment. Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs and abilities of students. Assess student progress through formative and summative assessments and use data to guide instruction. Collaborate with colleagues to integrate wellness and physical activity into the school culture. Communicate regularly with families about student progress and ways to support health and fitness at home. Participate in professional development and school-wide initiatives to support continuous improvement. Qualifications Bachelor?s degree in Physical Education, Education, or a related field (Master?s degree preferred). Valid Minnesota teaching license in K?12 Physical Education. Experience teaching or coaching physical education in K?8 settings (preferred, but not required). Demonstrated commitment to culturally responsive and inclusive teaching practices. Strong classroom management skills and ability to build positive relationships with students. Knowledge of fitness, health education, and child development.
