Position Title: Assistant Director Anticipated Start Date: July 1, 2026 Salary: Administrative salary will be determined based on relevant experience, expertise, and preparation. POSITION OVERVIEW: The Minnesota River Valley Education District (MRVED) is seeking its next Assistant Director (Full Time - 1.0) to share in the leadership, oversight and implementation of operations of our dynamic, multifaceted education district. As a member of the MRVED leadership team, this position works with the Executive Director to fulfill the MRVED?s mission of assisting each member district achieve their goals for their students and their community. Primary Responsibilities include supporting the learning programs of our member districts through leadership and support in professional development, curriculum design, coaching and QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor?s degree in education or a related field required; advanced degree, licensure, or relevant graduate coursework in school leadership preferred. Minimum of five (5) years of experience in teaching, educational leadership, or a related field. Demonstrated knowledge of current educational research, instructional best practices, and school improvement processes. Familiarity with state and federal regulations relevant to public education. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: In coordination with the Executive Director: Partner with the Executive Director to advance the mission, vision, and strategic priorities of MRVED in service to member districts. Share in the design, coordination, and implementation of professional learning and district support services. Facilitate collaborative processes with district teams to support curriculum development, instructional improvement, and data-informed decision-making. Ensure organizational compliance with federal and Minnesota Department of Education (MDE) requirements, including reporting obligations. Lead and support the research, design, implementation, and continuous improvement of MRVED programs and services aligned to member district needs and educational priorities. Design, organize, facilitate, and evaluate high-quality professional learning experiences, including district and cross-district initiatives (e.g., common professional development days). Support districts in the effective collection, analysis, and application of student and program data to inform decision-making and improve outcomes. Utilize and model effective use of technology to enhance productivity, communication, and service delivery. PROFESSIONAL SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES: Strong interpersonal skills, possessing the ability to work effectively with board members, administrators, educators, and community stakeholders. Deep understanding of K?12 curriculum, instruction, assessment, and evidence-based educational practices. Ability to facilitate collaborative processes, support decision-making, and lead continuous improvement efforts. Strong analytical skills, including the ability to interpret, apply, and communicate student and organizational data. Excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving abilities. Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey information to diverse audiences. Knowledge and application of technology tools that support both operational efficiency and instructional practices.
