We are looking for a collaborative professional committed to academic excellence, relationship-building, and meeting the needs of all learners through high-quality instruction and evidence-based literacy practices. Job Summary Teach the curriculum of St. James Public Schools aligned to Minnesota Academic Standards. Carry out responsibilities as defined by the master contract. Carry out responsibilities as assigned by the principal. Maintain positive communication and cooperative relationships with students, families, and staff. Collaborate with colleagues through Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) to respond to student learning needs. Utilize assessment data to guide instruction and intervention practices. Demonstrate continued professional growth through coursework, research, peer collaboration, and/or job-embedded professional development. Implement structured literacy practices aligned to the Minnesota READ Act. Support the academic, behavioral, and social-emotional growth of all students. Qualifications Required Qualifications Licensed by the State of Minnesota to teach Elementary Education. Strong general academic background. Ability to relate positively to students, staff, families, and community members. Strong classroom management and communication skills. Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of structured literacy and evidence-based reading instruction. Completion of, participation in, or willingness to complete Minnesota READ Act approved professional development, including: LETRS (Language Essentials for Teachers of Reading and Spelling) CAREIALL (Center for Applied Research and Educational Improvement Advancing Language and Literacy) OL&LA (Online Language and Literacy Academy) Experience collaborating within Professional Learning Communities (PLCs). Experience using student data to guide instruction and interventions. Experience working with multilingual learners and diverse student populations is preferred.
