Instructional and Behavioral Coach (TOSA) Sherburne Northern Wright Special Education Cooperative (SNWSEC) Full time position (1.0 FTE) Position available: August 24, 2026 JOB SUMMARY: The Special Education Instructional and Behavioral Coach''s primary responsibility is to provide professional support and development in a one-on-one and/or small group format for certified staff who are new to the field and/or new to the district, as well as consult on specialized behavioral and reintegration programming. Education and Certification Requirements: Required: Current teaching license Required: Three (3) or more years of classroom experience working with students Required: Valid Driver''s License Required: Trained in Handle with Care and Ukeru Preferred Education and Experience: Preferred: Instructional coaching professional development or graduate study Preferred: Master''s degree in special education or related field Preferred: Additional deep learning of evidence-based instructional and behavioral practice Preferred: Experience with coaching of certified staff Preferred: Experience facilitating professional development Preferred: Experience working with students with diverse disability needs, including those with significant emotional or behavioral challenges?and navigating complex transition or reintegration processes Special Education Specific Duties: Collaborate with Special Education teachers to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). Provide guidance on high leverage practices for Special Education instruction and interventions. Support Special Education staff in adhering to legal requirements and district policies. Conduct fidelity checks on Special Education programs and interventions. Assist in the development and delivery of professional development specific to Special Education needs and practices. Work with administrators to analyze Special Education data to guide instructional decisions and professional development. Essential Skills Required Demonstrate effective communication and teaming skills. Demonstrate strong interpersonal and facilitation skills (communication, problem-solving, conflict management, and collaboration skills). Provide PD to colleagues and non-certified staff on evidence-based best practice literacy and behavioral procedures. Manage and maintain all necessary record-keeping required by the district. Assist with and coach staff to monitor students'' progress on academic work. Provide timely, accurate, and specific feedback to individuals and teams. Demonstrate flexibility and responsiveness to students, staff, and supervisors. Support, coach on, and follow district grading practices for progress reports. Show professionalism in all encounters with staff, administration, students, families, and community .
