Eight hours per day, 52 weeks per year. Anticipated opening - Mid June Position will be open until filled Education and Experience: Associates/Technical degree in accounting, finance, or related field and experience working in payroll, human resources or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Primary Responsibilities: Manage and coordinate all aspects of the biweekly payroll function ensuring compliance with state and federal laws, district collective bargaining agreements, policies and regulations. Prepare and transmit biweekly reports for such functions as direct deposit, flexible spending, tax shelter annuities, retirement, union dues, child support and garnishments. Prepare and file quarterly state and federal tax returns. Manages reporting and year-end functions including W2 statements ensuring accuracy and accountability. Maintain confidential payroll records ensuring proper retention and recordkeeping. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Knowledge of payroll and benefit programs. 2+ years of experience with the full cycle payroll process preferred, including time off, tax filings, child support, garnishments and compliance requirements. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word. Knowledge of applicable state and federal employment/wage and hour laws. Working knowledge of employment contracts and insurance policies. Strong communication skills with ability to present complex information clearly and confidentially. Attention to detail with demonstrated ability to think strategically. Technological skill or ability to learn and use school-wide technological systems for example: Frontline & SMART Systems.
