POSITION TITLE: ELEMENTARY PRINCIPAL Overview: This role requires a leader who can balance day-to-day operations with long-term vision, support and develop staff, use data to drive continuous improvement, and foster a positive and inclusive school environment. IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: SUPERINTENDENT Qualifications · Current Minnesota K-12 Principal License, or ability to obtain by start date · Minimum of five (5) years of successful teaching experience required · Demonstrated experience supporting student achievement, staff development, and school improvement efforts Primary Responsibilities: 1. Administers elementary school education programs within state standards of curriculum requirements. Planning of programs Scheduling of staff, courses, and activities Recruiting, interviewing and recommending selection of staff Preparing elementary budget recommendations Coordinating with other school programs Develops policies and procedures to facilitate the delivery of programs, student discipline, parent and public relations. 2. Supervises certified and support personnel including recruiting, interviewing and recommendations for hire, development, evaluation of performance, discipline, assigning work and directing activities. 3. Evaluates and pursues, as appropriate, school-wide projects with major funding sources, taking the projects from conceptualization to grant writing to developing goals and work plans, project policies and procedures, project budgets and supervision. 4. Directs elementary school special education program, coordinating it with the regular education programs. 5. Supervises Title I/ADSIS projects within federal guidelines. Lead the local literacy plan and report. 6. Assures the learning standards are developed and maintained for students. 7. Assures that students are tested and evaluated regularly and appropriately, and that test results are shared with parents and students. 8. Oversees the development and maintenance of accurate and current student records and files. 9. Assures the development and maintenance of effective communication systems between parents, teachers, and school administrators. 10. Coordinates inter-related school programs such as nursing, psychologist, staff development, testing and in-service. 11. Submits an annual report to the Superintendent of the activities, progress, and status of the Nevis School, together with recommendations. 12. Responsible for inventory of equipment, supplies, technology, and books in cooperation with the business office. 13. Responsible for initiating and organizing committee and faculty meetings of teachers. 14. Maintains a level of knowledge and skills required to function as principal. 15. Performs other related duties as assigned by the Superintendent. Job descriptions are subject to alterations as district needs change. Salary: This position is a 10-month position. Salary:

This position is a 10-month position.

Salary Range: $99,000 – 102,000 paid semimonthly over 24 Pay Periods

TRA – 9.81% by District (Employee 8%)

Health Insurance- fully paid single with VEBA (HRA) benefit of $2,200

Life Insurance and AD&D $200,000 each (District Benefit)

Long Term Disability Policy
