The Math and Science Academy is hiring a secondary school health aide to work on student contact days beginning in August 2026. A health aide provides student support under the direction of MSA?s Nurse Consultant and the Special Services Director. The health aide provides administrative and basic medical support, including administering first aid, dispensing medication as directed, maintaining student health records, assisting with health screenings, and communicating with parents about student health needs. Schedule: Student contact days, student hours. Plus Professional Development days as assigned. FLSA: Non-Exempt Pay: $18 to $23 per hour, based on experience Benefits: MSA offers a generous benefits package and 10 days of paid time off to this position. Reports to the MSA Special Services Director. Medication Administration : Dispense prescribed medications and over-the-counter medications to students according to written directions and school protocols. Record Keeping : Maintain student health records, including immunization status, medical history, and visits to the health office. Health Screenings : Assist the school nurse with routine screenings, such as vision and hearing tests. Communication : Contact parents/guardians about a student?s illness or injury and inform school staff and the school nursing consultant of health-related issues. Office Management : Monitor and inventory health office supplies, maintain the health office, and assist with other clerical duties as assigned. Confidentiality : Maintain student and data confidentiality. Miscellaneous Duties: a. Promotes the MSA Mission and Vision in all communications and interactions. b. Embodies MSA Core Values in daily activities. c. Treats all students in an equitable manner. Physical Job Requirements: Physical requirements associated with the position can be best summarized as follows: Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, operate a computer, hand-held learning devices and other office equipment, reach with hands and arms, and must lift and/or move up to 10 pounds frequently. Occasionally comfortable with exerting force/lifting up to 50 pounds with assistance. Hazardous Working Conditions: Duties are performed in a typical school setting. There are minimal environmental hazards and risks associated with the nature of the work. Required: A candidate must m eet one of the following: Two years of college credits through an accredited institution, or An associate degree or higher, Preferred: A preferred candidate will also have the following : CPR trained or willingness to become CPR trained; and Experience in health care.
