Duluth East is accepting applications for the position of Varsity Boys Soccer Coach. Responsibilities include working closely with the Athletic Department to organize and administrate all phases of the program. The successful candidate must have demonstrated knowledge of NFHS and MSHSL rules; high ethical standards; demonstrated commitment to academics; demonstrate a background of awareness and concern for chemical usage and other habits of personal health and responsible behavior and be able to act as a sports and citizenship model; excellent organizational and administrative skills; be willing and prepared to involve and work with parents, and support groups; demonstrated successful coaching experience; success in developing student-athletes in an athletic program committed to academic and athletic excellence; be responsible for coordination of sport in terms of organizations, continuity, inspiration, cooperation, leadership, goals and objectives of the program.

Minimum Qualifications: Completion of 6-quarter credits or equivalent, or 60 hours of instruction in first aid and the care and prevention of athletic injuries, and completion of coaching methods or theory course. Knowledge and experience necessary to coach the sport.
Desirable Qualifications: Willingness to devote time to the program, dependability and responsibility; able to travel with the team. Knowledge of soccer, past coaching experience preferred.
Stipend Amount: $4,921 per 25-27 DFT contract, 27-29 amounts are TBD
FOR HEAD SPORT COACHES ONLY: If you do not currently meet the State Statute Requirement (SSR) to be a head coach in Minnesota, you will be directed to the Minnesota Coaches Education Program tab on the Coaches Clipboard page. This is a 6-hour in person course and includes additional on-line modules that must be completed per the state law. The cost of this course is $200.
Continuing Education Requirement (CER) page where you will have access to the required training. Sport Coaches must complete Chapters 1-4. Fine Arts Coaches/Directors must complete Chapters 1-3

Chapter 3 – Emergency Response Planning
Chapter 4 – Bylaw Review for sport coaches only
Coaches will also be expected to participate in coaching development learning opportunities as directed by school leadership.
