Experience in a school setting or working with youth POSITION SUMMARY: The primary responsibility of this position is to supervise student behavior in hallways, cafeterias, parking lots, and other areas inside and outside the assigned school site to help maintain a safe, secure, and positive learning environment. ESSENTIAL DUTIES: ? Monitor student behavior in hallways and other common spaces ? Monitor visitors in the building ? Build positive relationships with students and provide proactive behavior support ? Problem solve low-level behavior issues with the goal of keeping students in their learning environment ? Intervene in student altercations, insubordination, and harassment situations and refer students for appropriate action ? Remove unauthorized individuals from the school building and/or school grounds ? Work cooperatively with police liaison officers and school administration regarding school safety and security concerns ? Maintain regular communication with building leadership regarding student issues and behavior concerns ? Provide support in situations requiring physical holds or restraints ? Enforce traffic safety procedures ? Monitor student safety in parking lots and outdoor areas ? Assist with traffic flow during bus loading and unloading ? Issue tickets and initiate towing procedures for parking violations ? Monitor traffic violations and make referrals to law enforcement when necessary ? Enforce School District and building policies ? QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Required
    High School Diploma
