Northwest Service Cooperative Adult Basic Education (ABE) is currently seeking a part-time, evening instructor for the Clearbrook-Gonvick ABE classroom located at Clear Waters Life Center. The position is 230 hours /year which includes instructional & prep time as well as paid training. Classes are held Monday and Tuesday evenings from 6 to 8 PM. The position will begin on July 1, 2026. Primary instructional responsibility will include academic areas related to GED prep, Adult High School Diploma, Digital Literacy and Basic Skills instruction in the areas of reading, writing and math. Students include residents of Mustard Seed Homes and adult learners from the Clearbrook and surrounding communities. This is a rewarding year-round teaching position, working with adult learners age 17 or older, no longer enrolled in high school. Training and prep time are paid. A MN Teaching License is required . Create and update individual learner plans and goals based on student goals and objectives ? Select and develop curriculum that motivates and reflects the goals, needs, interests and expectations of the learner ? Provide direct instruction and facilitate self-directed learning that meets the needs, interests, goals, and abilities of each learner ? Adopt new instructional strategies as needed and employ a variety of instructional methods to address multiple learning styles ? Establish and maintain an appropriate environment for adult learning ? Maintain all registration and attendance data for ABE reporting requirements, including accurate records to demonstrate and assess learner progress ? Maintain and upgrade professional competence through attendance at relevant meetings, workshops, and other personal pursuits ? Maintain connections through outreach to various organizations and agencies and refer learners to specific agencies for assistance as needed. ?
