POSITION TITLE: Wilshire Park Due Process Support
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
FTE: 1.0
Start Date: August 24, 2026
POSITION SUMMARY/DESCRIPTION:
Due Process Support assists special education team leaders, special education teachers, school psychologists, paraeducators, and other school employees to facilitate special education due process for the building.
ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS:
- Collaborates with the District Due Process Specialist to ensure the student list is accurate.
- Monitors and maintains accurate records, databases, and other documents for Wilshire Park Special Education.
- Manages Special Transportation Wilshire Park requests and coordinates with the District Due Process Specialist regarding the students needing special transportation.
- Contacts parents and case managers to set up meetings related to Special Education due process.
- Create and send out the Notice of a Team Meeting and Procedural Safeguards to families.
- Support case managers by managing calendars to ensure due process timelines are met.
- Creates, proofreads, and reviews reports, correspondence, records, and other documents.
- Provides accurate data with confidentiality from maintained documents.
- Processes incoming and outgoing mail and other correspondence related to Special Education at Wilshire Park.
- Upload classroom accommodations into the student information system and notify teachers of the document.
- Fulfills record requests and/or requests records for Special Education students in collaboration with the District Due Process Specialist.
- Follow up with teachers and families regarding completion of due process paperwork for evaluations
- Upload due process documents into SpEd Forms (parental consent, outside evaluation reports, etc.)
- Send out Release of Information forms (ROI) to organizations.
- Manage files for testing protocols and file test protocols.
- Manage Special Education purchasing in collaboration with the Wilshire Park Special Education Lead.
- Enter and pull reports for student behavioral data
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Wilshire Park team Lead or Assistant Director of Special Education.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Preferred: Experience in public school settings and knowledge of Skyward Qmlativ student systems, as well as SpedForms and state systems for 3rd-party billing systems.
- Highly Qualified Paraeducator per State of Minnesota requirements.
- Must have intermediate skills using Google Suite products.
- Interest in working in a school district environment.
- Knowledge of district and school policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of legal due process requirements.
- Detail-oriented with proven ability to be consistently accurate.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate with students, parents, and employees.
- Ability to effectively collaborate with employees.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
WORK ENVIRONMENT/REQUIREMENTS:
- Working Conditions: Must be willing and able to work in the following conditions: busy, noisy, and with consistent interruptions.
- Physical Demands: The employee will need the ability to perform the following actions continuously: sitting, walking, using hands dexterously, talking, and hearing. The employee will occasionally perform the following actions: lifting and carrying up to 25 pounds; reaching; running; stooping; standing; bending; crouching; and walking. The employee may be exposed to infection at a greater risk than the average employee.
- Work Hours and Schedules in accordance with ParaEducators and Clerical Support SEIU Contract:
- Work hours are student school hours at Wilshire Park (6.5 hours/day with a 15 minute paid break and a 30 minute duty free, unpaid lunch)
- 174-day position.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Degree:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Experience
- Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, and database applications (Excel, Word, AESOP, Skyward).
- Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills.
- Ability to coordinate and manage special events, student programs, and school processes.
- Experience with student records management and providing administrative support.
- Customer service and human relations skills to assist and interact effectively with staff, students, parents, and the public.
Salary and Benefits:
- Salary:
- Range: $20.24-24.74/hr SEIU Para/Clerical Contract, Pay Grade 3
- Salary placement is based on experience and education level, as per district guidelines.
