OVERVIEW OF RESPONSIBILITIES The 5-12 Health Educator is responsible for supporting BLHS students with dedication, enthusiasm, adaptability, kindness, passion, and energy. A significant portion of this role consists of preparing and delivering appropriate instruction in health, wellness, and medical foundations. The Health Educator will foster a supervised environment where learners interact in a supportive and respectful manner. In cooperation with BLHS staff, the Health Educator works to fulfill the school''s mission across all instructional and professional duties. COURSES & CURRICULUM The educator will be responsible for developing and delivering curriculum for the following specialized courses: ? First Responder: Foundational skills for emergency medical response. ? CPR Certification: Training and certifying students in life-saving CPR techniques. ? Child Development: Exploring the physical, cognitive, and social development of children. ? Intro to Medical Careers: Surveying various professions within the healthcare field. ? Medical Terminology: Teaching the language of medicine and healthcare. ? Athletic Training: Basics of sports medicine, injury prevention, and physical rehabilitation. AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY ? Provide instruction of approved core curriculum with appropriate use of instructional resources, specifically tailored to health sciences, medical terminology, and practical certifications. ? Meet and/or exceed expectations on formal evaluations. ? Complete required reports for parents and/or administration. ? Perform classroom management duties, including enforcing student conduct rules and providing appropriate disciplinary action, as needed. ? Maintain and manage equipment necessary for medical, CPR, and athletic training instruction safely and effectively. The position is open until filled.
