A Minnesota elementary education teaching license is required. Fairmont Area School District is located in Fairmont, Minnesota on I-90. "The City of Lakes" has a population of roughly 10,000 and attracts many professionals for manufacturing, service, and agriculture-related careers. Fairmont citizens take great pride in its public school and have repeatedly supported the district and the staff. This partnership makes living and working in the community a special setting where individual efforts can create impactful and sustainable change. Fairmont Area Schools serves about 1,700 preK-12th grade students from Fairmont and the surrounding area. Many families choose to open-enroll in Fairmont due to our committed staff, robust programming, and quality facilities. Graduating classes are roughly 140 students per year and classroom sizes are in the twenties.
