Waubun-Ogema-White Earth Schools is seeking a dedicated and qualified High School Science Teacher to teach both Life Science and Physics for grades 9–12. The ideal candidate will foster a supportive and engaging classroom environment that promotes critical thinking, scientific inquiry, and academic success across both subject areas.
Job Summary: Under the direction of the building principal, the licensed teacher will provide instruction in Life Science and Physics to students in grades 9–12. This position supports student learning through the delivery of district-approved curriculum, assessment of progress, and active collaboration with staff and families to meet student needs

Essential Functions
- Deliver engaging classroom instruction in Life Science and Physics following district standards.
- Use a variety of teaching strategies and materials to reach students with diverse learning needs.
- Evaluate student progress regularly and adjust instruction to improve outcomes.
- Develop and implement lesson plans, labs, and activities aligned with state standards.
- Maintain accurate student records, grade assignments, and participate in conferences.
- Manage the classroom environment to ensure student safety, respect, and responsibility.
- Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and support staff to address instructional goals and student success.
- Attend meetings, trainings, and professional development to stay current with best practices.
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to student support planning as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong knowledge of Life Science and Physics content areas.
- Understanding of instructional strategies, student development, and assessment methods.
- Ability to differentiate instruction and support a variety of learners.
- Effective classroom management and communication skills.
- Competent in using technology for instruction, assessment, and communication.
- Ability to work collaboratively and maintain positive professional relationships.
Supervision of Other Employees:
While this position does not entail direct supervision of other employees, it does provide indirect supervision for the Paraprofessional(s) in the classroom.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Bachelor''s Degree in Education and a relevant instructional subject area(s).
License:
Licensed in the State of Minnesota in the instructional area.
Experience:
Minimum completion of an assigned internship/practice teaching experience and degree program.
