This position is a 12 month position, and requires you to be able to work morning and afternoon programming, non-school days, and Camp Horizons/Big Shots Summer Childcare Shifts: 6:15am - 8:45 am, and afternoon is 3pm-6pm. Prep time of 90 minutes, as needed. Location : Kennedy Elementary Rate of pay: $21.77 Comm. Ed Para Contract 2024-2026 Start Date: August 24th, 2026 Job Responsibilities : Supervision and safety: Supervise children at all times, respond to emergencies and crisis situations, and ensure a healthy and safe environment. Program implementation : Implement and adapt activities according to provided guidelines to support the social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development of the children. Child interaction : Interact positively with children, using developmentally appropriate practices, providing support and guidance, and responding to their individual needs. Communication: Communicate effectively with children, staff, parents, and administrators. Maintain confidentiality and foster positive relationships. Daily operations: Assist with daily tasks such as snack preparation, and cleanup. Help set up and maintain a clean and organized environment. Qualifications and skills: Education: High school diploma or GED is required Experience: Previous experience in childcare or with school-age programs is often preferred but not always required. Skills: Possess strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
