Position: Elementary Physical Education Teacher School: Minnesota Math and Science Academy, St. Paul, MN Are you an amazing Teacher who is looking for an incredible school and team? Minnesota Math and Science Academy is looking for those educators who want to be a part of something special and strive to make a difference in the lives of our students. Roles and Responsibilities: Teach knowledge and skills in physical fitness, appropriate health education, rhythms and dance, and individual or team sports, utilizing course of study based on Minnesota State Standards. Analyzes, demonstrates, and explains basic skills, knowledge, and strategies of formal sports, games, rhythms, and fundamentals of body movement. Provides individualized and small group instruction in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each pupil, to the extent feasible. Provides appropriate safety instructions and makes safety checks on equipment and field areas to insure the overall safety of pupils. Maintains control of storage and use of school-owned property. Maintains standards of pupil behavior needed to provide an orderly, productive environment in the physical education areas. Evaluate each pupil''s growth in physical skills, knowledge, and contribution in team sports. Maintains professional competence through in-service education provided by the District and/or in self-selected professional growth activities. Maintains courteous and professional relationships with students, parents and staff Other duties as may be assigned. Required Qualifications: A Bachelor?s degree in Physical Education. A Valid Minnesota Teacher?s License Experience in teaching physical education is desired but not necessary for hiring.
