General Definition of Work
Performs difficult administrative work assisting with the implementation of the Individual Growth and Development Plan (Growth Plan) offering feedback and supporting the progress of teachers, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the limited supervision of the Director of Teaching and Learning and Building Principal.
Qualification Requirements

Essential Functions
Assists teachers with development and implementation of the Individual Growth and Development Plan (Growth Plan).
Supports teachers with student assessments, student learning, goal progress and outcomes.
Completes teacher walk-throughs and peer observations.
Assists teachers with the development and implementation of student learning goals.
Attends and coordinates peer coach meetings; assists with Teacher Development Evaluation Plan.
Provides feedback for each Individual Growth and Development Plan (Growth Plan).
Facilitates yearly self-assessment and summary reports.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Thorough knowledge of elementary, secondary or special education principles, practices and procedures; thorough knowledge of the principles and methodology of effective teaching; thorough knowledge of District rules, regulations and procedures; thorough knowledge of the District Development and Individual Growth and Development Plan (Growth Plan); general skill when interpreting measure of academic progress; ability to make arithmetic computations using whole numbers, fractions and decimals; thorough skill operating standard office computer equipment and applicable hardware and software; thorough skill maintaining accurate records both paper and electronically; ability to compute rates, ratios and percentages; ability to manage several work projects simultaneously; ability to effectively communicate with staff, students, parents and other district shareholders both orally and in writing; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, administrators, students and parents.
Education and Experience
Master''s degree in education, or related field and considerable experience teaching. Must be a tenured teacher with Columbia Heights Public Schools, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Physical Requirements
This work requires the occasional exertion of up to 10 pounds of force; work frequently requires speaking or hearing and reaching with hands and arms and occasionally requires standing, walking, sitting, using hands to finger, handle or feel, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling, pushing or pulling and lifting; work has standard vision requirements; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels; work requires preparing and analyzing written or computer data; work has no exposure to environmental conditions; work is generally in a moderately noisy location (e.g. business office, light traffic).
Special Requirements
Valid Minnesota Teaching License
Experience working in a multi-cultural setting with diverse groups of people preferred.
Alternatives to the qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable will also be considered.
Valid driver''s license in the State of Minnesota.
