Start Your Online Application Now Date of Availability: ASAP ACHIEVE LANGUAGE ACADEMY JOB DESCRIPTION JOB TITLE: Front Desk Clerk (Full-time) SUPERVISOR: OPERATIONS DIRECTOR JOB SUMMARY: Assure smooth and efficient operation of the front office. Duties include switchboard operation, monitoring attendance, copying, and other office tasks so that the maximum positive impact on education of the children can be realized. Greets and screens visitors entering the school building, and directs them to the proper person or room. Monitors and updates student attendance records and contacts families about absences. Organizes and maintains office and student files and records and fulfills records requests for enrolling and withdrawing students. Assists with bus transportation for all students and handles changes in transportation as needed. Serves as liaison and interpreter for Spanish-speaking families and translates necessary documents. Operates office machines. Sorts and distributes mail and packages. Provide backup support for health services as needed Maintains confidentiality for students and staff. Performs other duties as may be required. Requirements Speaks fluently in Spanish and possesses some writing/reading skills in the Spanish language. . High school diploma or equivalent. Business education training with secretarial experience desirable. Previous school setting or public service experience is desirable. Ability to type accurately at a speed of not less than 35 correct words per minute. Knowledge of the organization, functions, responsibilities and procedures of a school. Knowledge of and ability to use personal computers and business related software. Demonstrated ability to identify problems within an office and to develop feasible solutions. Ability to express ideas concisely and clearly, orally and in writing. Considerable interpersonal skills, including the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others. Knowledge of basic office procedures and operation of office equipment and machines. Must be able to multi-task a busy front office.
