Posting ID: 2627-02-MUSICAL THEATRE Classification: Part-Time MUSICAL TEACHING ARTIST (Grades 9-12) (2 - 25 hours per week) Start Date: Week of August 10, 2026 SPCPA seeks an accomplished musical theatre educator who actively works in the field and demonstrates excellence in actor training, directing, curriculum development, and performance preparation. Arts courses are 105 minutes in length and scheduled from 8:00-9:45 AM and 1:10-2:55 PM. Courses offerings may vary in length and frequency depending on availability, experience, and area(s) of expertise. Areas of Instruction ? Musical Theatre Performance ? Acting Through Song ? Musical Theatre History ? Vocal Technique ? Repertoire Development ? Audition Preparation ? Dance for Musical Theatre ? Character Analysis ? Scene Work ? Piano Skills for Musical Theatre Performers ? Arts-Based Humanities Courses Technical Training Expectations Candidates must demonstrate the ability to train students through structured progression from beginning through advanced levels. SPCPA courses must include: ? Acting ? Singing ? Movement ? Storytelling ? Musical interpretation ? Character development ? Audition preparation ? Professional performance practices Candidates should be prepared to submit sample syllabi, rubrics, scope and sequence documents, and evidence of student achievement. Multi-Disciplinary Expertise Candidates with expertise in theatre, vocal music, piano, dance, directing, choreography, creative writing or arts-based humanities courses are strongly encouraged to apply.
