Arts courses are 105 minutes in length and scheduled from 8:00-9:45 AM and 1:10-2:55 PM. Courses offerings may vary in length and frequency depending on availability, experience, and area(s) of expertise. Areas of Instruction ? Guitar (Beginning through Advanced) ? Instrumental Performance ? Music Theory ? Ear Training and Sight Singing ? Music History ? Composition ? Songwriting ? Arranging ? Improvisation ? Ensemble Performance ? Chamber Music ? Contemporary Music Studies ? Recording and Production Concepts ? Arts-Based Humanities Courses Technical Training Expectations Candidates must demonstrate the ability to train instrumentalists through structured progression from beginning through advanced levels. SPCPA courses must include: ? Instrument-specific technical skills ? Music literacy and notation ? Music theory and harmonic understanding ? Ear training and aural skills ? Rhythm and timing ? Improvisation ? Composition and arranging ? Ensemble collaboration ? Artistic interpretation ? Professional rehearsal techniques ? Performance preparation Candidates should be prepared to submit sample syllabi, rubrics, scope and sequence documents, and evidence of student achievement. Multi-Disciplinary Expertise Candidates with expertise in musical theatre, directing, creative writing, dance, voice training, movement, or arts-based humanities courses are strongly encouraged to apply.
