Start Your Online Application Now Date of Availability: 08/24/2026 Date Closing: Position Open Until Fille Jr/Sr High School Health Assistant / School Nurse Long Term Substitute Fairmont Area Schools seeks a passionate student-centered candidate for a School Health Assistant / School Nurse long term substitute position at the Jr./Sr. High School from August 24, 2026 - February 5, 2027. This position is available to be filled by either a School Health Assistant or School Nurse. The position is open to be either full time or part time. Fairmont Area School District is located in Fairmont, Minnesota on I-90. "The City of Lakes" has a population of roughly 10,000 and attracts many professionals for manufacturing, service, and agriculture-related careers. Fairmont Area Schools serves about 1,700 students preK-12th grade from Fairmont and the surrounding area. Graduating classes are roughly 140 students per year and classroom sizes are in the twenties. The school health assistnat / school nurse will work closely with the student support team. The school health assistnat / school nurse will help support the following: Assess student wellbeing and provide care to students within scope of practice and training in compliance with the Minnesota Nurse Practice Act and current policies/procedures Maintain student health records in a confidential manner Administer hearing and vision screening programs at appropriate grade levels Develop individualized health care plans as appropriate Review and manage student health forms and immunization records Administer medications and perform nursing care procedures per the Minnesota Nurse Practice Act and current policies/procedures Provide support and education to students, families, and staff for student health needs Work with school staff and community resources to enhance health services to students in need Engage in continuing education to support ongoing professional growth and development Fairmont Area Schools has a competitive compensation package and supports which include but are not limited to?
