Start Your Online Application Now Hutchinson Public Schools is seeking Special Education Assistant Bus Riders to join our team for the 2026-2027 school year and beyond. Special Education Assistant Bus Riders will provide assistance and monitor individual students who are on an Individual Education Plan (IEP) while they are on the school bus making sure school rules are followed to ensure student safety. This position will work 165-175 days per year based on the school calendar and training. Hours per day would be determined based on bus route(s). Bus routes are available in the morning, afternoon or both. The salary range for this position is $19.59 per hour - $22.09 per hour. Salary is dependent upon education and experience. Responsibilities Include: Observe students, checking for appropriate and safe behaviors. Assist in conflict resolution as well as other needs including: tying shoes, zipping coats, etc. Assist the teacher with crisis problems and behavior management. Observe, record, and chart behaviors. Work with other staff and students to create a positive, efficient and safe school environment. Maintain confidentiality standards by adhering to the district''s data privacy policy.
