The Duluth Preschool of Fine Arts and Education is a well-respected preschool located in the Duluth Hillside. Dedicated to providing quality childcare, interactive learning, and memorable experiences, we are looking for a highly motivated teacher to inspire and be a part of our team, working with children aged 3 up to their first day of kindergarten. We focus on not only the typical preschool curriculum and learning but also introduce the children to different music, acting, and dancing experiences. We also spend a significant amount of our time learning outdoors and traveling the city.
Qualifications of a Preschool Teacher include:
· Someone who enjoys children and is patient, has a compassionate attitude with a friendly disposition
· Passion for shaping and inspiring young minds
· Creative mindset with an ability to create memorable, out-of-the-box lessons
· Ability to be an out-of-the-box thinker who is willing to dress up, be silly, and engage in play with children (not only in daily activities but for plays and performances with the students)
· Knowledge of instructional and communication methods appropriate for preschool aged children
· Ability to organize tasks and manage time to meet varied deadlines
· A true love for the outdoors and the ability to hike 2-9 miles on varied terrain in all types of weather (The city is our jungle gym and we LOVE to explore!)
Education, experience, and licensing requirements:
· Must be 18 years of age or older
· Early Childhood Education Degree or equivalent that meets the State of MN Lead Teacher requirements
· A background including dance and/or acting is a bonus but not required.
Primary Job Duties:
· Create, implement, and execute age-appropriate lesson plans
· Engaging in creative methods of learning such as arts and crafts, supervised play, small group learning centers, and storytelling
· Ensuring the classroom is a clean, safe, and organized environment (Includes cleaning and sterilizing classroom, equipment, toys, bathroom, etc.)
· Encouraging social interactions between children and improving their self-esteem
· Responsible for care and safety of all students in care at all times
Pay is based on education and experience.
