Special Education Teacher, Grades 7-9 2026?2027 School Year Position: Full-Time (1.0 FTE) We are seeking a dedicated, student-centered Special Education Teacher to join our middle school team. This position serves students in grades 7?9 by providing specialized instruction in English and mathematics while managing a caseload of students with diverse learning needs. The ideal candidate is collaborative, organized, and committed to helping students build academic skills, confidence, and independence. Qualifications and Skills: Valid teaching license in Special Education (or eligibility for licensure). Knowledge of special education law, IEP development, and evidence-based instructional practices. Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills. Commitment to building positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues. Responsibilities: Serve as case manager for approximately 15 students in grades 7?8 with disabilities, including Specific Learning Disabilities (SLD), Developmental Cognitive Disabilities (DCD), and Other Health Disabilities (OHD). Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in accordance with state and federal guidelines. Provide direct instruction in small-group settings in the following courses or similar: English Skills 7 English Skills 8 Algebra Skills I Pre-Algebra Skills (Grades 7?8) Pre-Algebra II 7th Grade Academic Foundations Differentiate instruction to meet individual student needs using research-based instructional practices. Monitor student progress and communicate regularly with students, families, and staff. Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, paraprofessionals, and administration to ensure appropriate supports and accommodations. Participate in IEP meetings, evaluation planning, and multidisciplinary team meetings. Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with all special education requirements. Join our Team!
