Benson Public Schools is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic 7–12 Substitute Social Studies Teacher for a portion of the 2026–2027 school year. This position offers an exciting opportunity to engage students in the study of history, geography, government, economics, and culture while fostering critical thinking and informed citizenship in a supportive, community-centered school environment.
Job Summary: This position will teach grades 7-12. The Social Studies Teacher will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive Social Studies curriculum, maintaining accurate academic records, contributing to curriculum development, and supporting the school’s mission of fostering a respectful and collaborative learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
· Plan and deliver engaging instruction aligned with state standards and district curriculum.
· Foster a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment.
· Assess student learning, monitor progress, and adjust instruction to meet individual needs.
· Collaborate with colleagues, families, and support staff to support student success.
· Maintain accurate student records, communicate student progress, and participate in conferences as needed.
· Participate in professional development, staff meetings, and other school responsibilities while demonstrating professionalism and a commitment to student achievement.
Qualifications:
- Valid MN teaching license for the appropriate area of teaching
- Experience working with students
Salary: Daily rate of $266.85 – $488.76
Pay will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
