Job Summary for ACGC MS/HS We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Social Studies Teacher for our 5-12 grade students at the ACGC 5-12 Building. The ideal candidate will foster a dynamic learning environment that encourages critical thinking, collaboration, and a deep understanding of social history, geography, civics, and economics. Responsibilities - Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with state standards. - Create a positive classroom environment that encourages student participation and collaboration. - Assess student progress through various methods, including tests, projects, and presentations, and provide constructive feedback. - Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of all students, including those with special needs and English language learners. - Incorporate technology and innovative teaching strategies to enhance student engagement and learning. - Collaborate with colleagues to design interdisciplinary projects and initiatives that promote a holistic understanding of social studies. - Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and classroom activities. - Participate in professional development opportunities to stay updated on best practices in education and social studies pedagogy. - Uphold the values and mission of the school and district while maintaining a safe and respectful learning environment. Requirements - Bachelor?s degree in Education - Valid teaching license/certification for grades 5-12 in Social Studies (other licenses will be considered) Work Days: 154.5 (146 School Days + 8.5 Teacher Days) ACGC operates on a 4 day school week schedule.
