Operations Manager
Reports To: Executive Director
Collaborates Closely With: Compliance Data & Policy Manager, and Financial Vendor
Position Type: Full-time, Salaried
Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:30-4:30 pm
Location: Marine Village School, 550 Pine Street, Marine on St. Croix, MN, 55047
Position Summary
The Operations Manager is the logistical heartbeat of the school. This role is responsible for ensuring that the physical building, daily routines, technology, and third-party vendors function flawlessly so that educators can focus entirely on teaching.
The Operations Manager focuses on execution, physical asset management, and creating a safe, efficient, and welcoming school environment.
Primary Responsibilities
Facilities & Safety Management
Building Operations: Serve as the primary point of contact for health services, food service/nutrition, transportation, building maintenance & custodial services, and transportation.
Safety & Security: Manage building security systems, keycard access, and visitor protocols. Coordinate and document mandatory emergency drills (fire, tornado, lockdown) in partnership with the Executive Director.
Logistical Support: Oversee room readiness for before school and afterschool events, board meetings, testing windows, and summer activities/events.
Vendor & Partner Logistics and Support: Payroll, insurance, food service, City of Marine, Public Safety.
Transportation: Manage the relationship with the student transportation/bus drivers, maintenance companies, DOT Compliance Company, and all compliance pieces. Oversee daily arrival and dismissal logistics, route adjustments, and parent communications regarding delays.
Supply & Inventory: Manage the purchasing, inventory, and distribution of school supplies, curricula, and staff materials.
Front Office & Administrative Support
Office Operations: Oversee the front desk staff/reception to ensure a professional, welcoming, and secure environment for families and visitors. Mail processing, program support, communication with families.
Onboarding Logistics: Coordinate the physical setup for new hires (workspace, keys, tech deployment).

Strong communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills
