Start Your Online Application Now Date of Availability: 09/15/2026 Date Closing: 08/10/2026 International Spanish Language Academy (ISLA) is looking for a beginning strings/orchestra teacher for a 4th and 5th grade after school program. Classes will run in accordance with the school calendar on Tuesdays and Thursdays, September through May (approximately 66 total classes). Classes are taught from 4-5pm, however, the instructor will be expected to arrive early to receive students and stay after during sign out for a total of 90 minutes per day. Pay is $4,000 ($40/hour). KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES Ability to relate positively to elementary-age children. Excellent proven communication skills (non-verbal, oral, written, and listening.) Ability to implement creative and innovative teaching strategies. Good organizational skills and flexibility in relating to students, parents, peers, and supervisors. Must be able to work well in a team environment through cooperation and participation. In-depth knowledge of Orchestra instruction Ability to appropriately teach children with different ability levels and learning styles. Ability to understand that students are individuals, and the skill to work effectively with individual strengths and needs of students. Knowledge and ability to creatively instill the love of learning in students. Creatively strive to make connections with parent, other classes, community, and beyond.
