Responsibilities Provide support to students throughout the school day. Assist with behavior intervention plans and classroom routines. Encourage positive behavior and teach self-regulation skills. Monitor student progress and document observations. Help create a safe, respectful, and supportive learning environment. Work collaboratively with teachers, specialists, and other staff. Participate in required trainings and meetings. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Must meet Minnesota paraprofessional qualifications (college credits, associate degree, ParaPro assessment, or equivalent). Ability to work well with students who have behavioral and emotional needs. Strong communication skills, patience, and a positive attitude. Reliable, flexible, and able to work as part of a team. Physical Requirements The position requires standing, walking, bending, and assisting students throughout the day. Employees must be able to lift or assist students weighing up to 50 pounds and respond appropriately in behavioral situations when needed.
