This position focuses primarily on co-teaching in our Middle School Project Adventure program , while also teaching one High School Physical Education class . At Breck, we believe in empowering students to take risks, build resilience, and discover their strengths through hands-on, collaborative learning. In this role, you will work in a collaborative co-teaching model alongside our experienced PE staff to deliver active learning that combines physical literacy with Project Adventure curriculum - focusing on cooperative games, leadership, social-emotional learning, and outdoor/challenge-based education.n f you thrive in a team-teaching environment and are passionate about experiential pedagogy, this is a unique opportunity to step directly into an established, supportive program. Key Responsibilities Co-Teaching & Collaboration: Partner closely with physical education faculty to co-plan, co-teach, and manage daily classes, ensuring a seamless experience for students. PE & Project Adventure Instruction: Facilitate dynamic Physical Education classes and Project Adventure initiatives, challenge courses, and team-building activities. Guide students through debriefs and reflection to connect physical activities with social-emotional growth, applying core principles like Full Value Contract and Challenge by Choice. I nclusive & Safe Environment: Prioritize both physical and emotional safety, maintaining a supportive, inclusive, and encouraging atmosphere for all students. Facility & Equipment Management: Work together with department staff to manage indoor/outdoor learning spaces and maintain physical education equipment. Qualifications & Skills Education: Bachelor?s degree in Physical Education, Outdoor/Experiential Education, Kinesiology, or a related field. Experience: Teaching experience in K?12 Physical Education and/or direct experience facilitating Project Adventure and challenge courses.
