LONG-TERM KINDERGARTEN SUBSTITUTE TEACHER POSITION STATUS: Long-Term Substitute START DATE: August 31, 2026 COMPENSATION: $220 per day ABOUT NORTH LAKES ACADEMY: North Lakes Academy (NLA) is a K?12 charter school located in Forest Lake, Minnesota, approximately 25 miles north of the Twin Cities metropolitan area. JOB DESCRIPTION: North Lakes Academy is seeking a caring, enthusiastic, and dependable Long-Term Kindergarten Substitute Teacher beginning August 31, 2026 . This position offers the unique opportunity to work with a small kindergarten class of just eight students , allowing for meaningful relationships, individualized instruction, and a supportive learning environment. The ideal candidate is passionate about early childhood education and committed to creating a positive, engaging, and nurturing classroom where young learners can grow academically, socially, and emotionally. They will provide a consistent, supportive learning experience while maintaining classroom routines, collaborating with families, and helping each child reach their full potential. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Plan and deliver engaging kindergarten instruction aligned with classroom curriculum and state standards Maintain established classroom routines and a positive learning environment Foster students'' academic, social, and emotional development Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners Assess student progress and provide feedback as appropriate Communicate effectively with families and school staff Collaborate with colleagues and participate in school meetings as needed Supervise students throughout the school day, including arrival, dismissal, lunch, and recess duties as assigned Create a safe, welcoming, and inclusive classroom where every child feels supported QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor''s degree required Valid Minnesota teaching license or eligibility to serve as a long-term substitute in Minnesota Previous elementary or early childhood teaching experience preferred Strong classroom management and communication skills Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and staff Commitment to providing a high-quality, student-centered learning experience APPLY ONLINE: APPLY: Please submit the following materials directly to lclaiborne@northlakesacademy.org : a current resume, cover letter, and two letters of recommendation.
