Description:
Crookston Public Schools is seeking a dedicated, student-centered Secondary English teacher to join our team beginning the 2026-2027 school year. We are looking for an educator who is passionate about literature, writing, communication, and helping students develop the critical thinking skills needed for success in school and beyond. This position is full-time and would be for grades 7-12. The successful candidate will create an engaging and inclusive learning environment that inspires students in grades 7-12 to become confident readers, writers and communicators while building positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging, standards-based English Language Arts instruction for students in grades 7-12
- Foster a positive, respectful and inclusive classroom environment
- Differentiate instsruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students
- Assess student learning and provide timely, meaningful feedback
- Integrate technology and instructional best practices into classroom instruction
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff regarding student progress
- Collaborate with colleagues to support student achievement and school improvement initiatives
- Participate in professional development, staff meetings, and school activities
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Valid Minnesota teaching license in English Language Arts through PELSB or the ability to obtain licensure before the start of employment
- Strong classroom management and instructional skills
- Excellent communication, organizational, and collaboration skills
- Commitmenet to student success and continuous professional growth
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience teaching secondary English Language Arts
- Knowledge of differentiated instruction and evidence-based literacy practices
- Experience integrating educational technology into classroom instruction

Located just 25 miles east of Grand Forks, ND, we are close to the University of North Dakota; ample shopping, dining, an international airport and more. District enrollment size is approximately 1,135 students K-12; with the high school about 560 students in grades 7-12. We offer an excellent salary and benefits package as per the Crookston Education Association Master Agreement (see CEA Master Agreement 25-27 )
