Previous experience in school district finance POSITION SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Controller, the Accounting & Payroll Supervisor leads the daily operations of the District''s payroll processing and general accounting functions. Based in the Business Services department, this position ensures accurate, timely employee compensation and compliance with state and federal financial regulations through sound financial processes. ESSENTIAL DUTIES: ? Assists with all financial accounting for the district, ensuring timely, accurate reporting and efficient processes ? Completes monthly bank reconciliations ? Oversees and manages the timely, accurate processing of payroll for all staff members ? Reviews and reconciles various general ledger accounts related to subsidiary accounting functions including payroll, benefits, accounts receivable, and accounts payable ? Helps maintain cash flow records to ensure availability of cash to meet current expenditure requirements and invests excess funds in accordance with district investment policy ? Provides day-to-day direction, training, and performance evaluations for the payroll and accounting support team ? Troubleshoots and resolves complex payroll, tax, or benefit deduction questions ? Enters various journal entries in Skyward, ensuring compliance with UFARS coding ? Oversees and manages federal/state tax withholdings, submissions, W-2 generation, and TRA/PERA reporting ? Oversees and assists with Special Education financial reporting through the SEDRA System ? Assists with budgeting and reporting for state and federal grants ? Assists in the preparation of the annual financial audit ? Assists with the financial accounting and reporting for federal, state, and local grants ? Assists with the semi-monthly payroll ? Organizes and manages a functional filing system that ensures the safe retention and efficient retrieval of office records in accordance with established state and federal laws ?
