Position Summary - Spanish Teacher (K–8)
Northeast College Prep is seeking a passionate, collaborative, and student-centered Spanish Teacher to provide engaging world language instruction for students in Kindergarten through eighth grade. The Spanish Teacher helps students develop communication skills while building an appreciation for the cultures, histories, and perspectives of the Spanish-speaking world.
As a specialist teacher, this position is an integral member of our instructional team. In addition to teaching Spanish, specialist teachers collaborate with classroom teachers, support school-wide initiatives, and may provide academic intervention or other instructional support based on student and school needs.

Essential Responsibilities
Instruction
- Plan and deliver engaging, standards-aligned Spanish instruction for students in Kindergarten through eighth grade.
- Develop students'' speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills through meaningful communication in Spanish.
- Foster an appreciation for the diverse cultures, histories, and traditions represented throughout the Spanish-speaking world.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners.
- Use formative and summative assessment data to monitor student progress and adjust instruction.
- Maintain high expectations for both academic achievement and student behavior.
- Create a classroom environment that is safe, welcoming, inclusive, and conducive to learning.
Schoolwide Responsibilities
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and instructional staff to support student success.
- Provide academic intervention or small-group instruction when assigned based on school needs.
- Support school operations through duties such as lunch supervision, substitute coverage, and other shared responsibilities.
- Participate actively in professional development, staff meetings, collaborative planning, and school events.
- Implement schoolwide systems and expectations consistently.
Professional Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate student records and communicate student progress with families.
- Build strong partnerships with parents and caregivers.
- Demonstrate professionalism, cultural responsiveness, and ethical decision-making.
- Contribute positively to the school''s collaborative culture.
- Pursue continuous professional growth and implement feedback to improve practice.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Minnesota teaching license in Spanish (or eligibility to obtain licensure).
- Fluency in spoken and written Spanish and English.
- Ability to work effectively with students and families from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
- Strong classroom management and relationship-building skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience teaching Spanish in elementary and/or middle school.
- Experience working in culturally and linguistically diverse schools.
- Experience supporting multilingual learners.
- Knowledge of effective language acquisition strategies and communicative language instruction.
Compensation
Northeast College Prep offers a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package. Base salary for BA if $45,276 and base salary for MA is $50,392. Salary is determined by years of experience and education.
