This position will provide instruction for students in Kindergarten through Grade 6 while working alongside our current music teacher during her transition back to full-time teaching. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys sharing the joy of music with children in a faith-filled environment. The successful candidate will foster a positive, engaging classroom where students grow in musical knowledge, creativity, confidence, and an appreciation for music as a gift from God. Lesson plans and curriculum are already established, allowing the substitute teacher to focus on building relationships with students and creating meaningful musical experiences while maintaining continuity in the classroom. Responsibilities Teach general music to students in Kindergarten through Grade 6. Implement lesson plans and curriculum provided by the current music teacher. Create a joyful, well-managed classroom where students are encouraged to participate and grow. Collaborate with the current music teacher, classroom teachers, and school administration to ensure a smooth transition for students. Support the Catholic mission and values of St. Michael Catholic School through word and example. Assist in leading our small Grades 5?8 choir for weekly school Masses. Qualifications The ideal candidate will have: A love for music, children, and Catholic education. Experience working with elementary-aged students preferred. Strong classroom management and communication skills. A collaborative, flexible, and positive approach to teaching. A current Minnesota teaching or substitute license is preferred but not required.
