Waubun-Ogema-White Earth Community Schools ISD #435 is seeking a Media Center Paraprofessional for the 2026 - 2027 school year at the Ogema Site.
Job Summary: Waubun-Ogema-White Earth Community Schools is seeking a Student Support & Media Center Paraprofessional for the 2026 - 2027 school year. This position provides support to students and staff through a combination of academic intervention, media center supervision, and student services. Responsibilities may include supporting Tier II and Tier III student interventions, assisting students with academic and organizational skills, supervising media center activities, managing library resources, and supporting breakfast and lunch operations.
Assignment: Non-Certified
Major Areas of Accountability:
- Provide academic and behavioral support to individual students and small groups.
- Assist with Tier II and Tier III interventions as directed by administration and teaching staff.
- Supervise and support daily media center operations.
- Assist students and staff with library resources, technology, and media needs.
- Support book circulation, organization, inventory, and media center programming.
- Assist with selection, ordering, and processing of library materials as assigned.
- Manage breakfast and lunch counts and related student meal procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming learning environment.
- Collaborate with teachers, intervention staff, and administration to support student success.
- Build positive relationships with students and families.
- Perform duties at one or more district sites as assigned.
Job Requirements:
- Proficient in operating office equipment, including computers and copiers.
- Strong interpersonal skills, patience, and the ability to handle various situations effectively.
- Knowledge of library procedures and school policies.
- Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Ability to successfully pass the paraprofessional proficiency exam.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with children and adolescents.
- Knowledge of academic interventions and student support strategies.
- Experience with technology and library/media center systems.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with staff.
