Job Announcement Position: Special Education Teacher Location: W.E. Circle of Life Academy Open: 07-31-2026 Close: 08-14-2026 Pay: Teacher Pay Scale Benefits: Full Status: Full Time Circle of Life Academy is currently seeking a qualified applicant who is a Licensed Special Education Teacher to develop and provide specialized instruction to meet the unique needs of students with disabilities; evaluates and assesses student progress against instructional objectives; and functions as IEP Manager to assigned students. Identifies and prioritizes areas of the general education curriculum & accommodation for students needing specialized instruction. Outcomes: Teach and case manage Special Education students. Create and maintain an atmosphere in the classroom that facilitates the learning process in order to ensure a high level of academic achievement for all students. Carries out a program of study prescribed in the classroom/grade lesson plan. Evaluate each student?s learning style and create a learning environment that addresses individual learning styles. Maintain a high level of classroom discipline in accordance with classroom and general school rules. Develop and implement high quality lesson plans. Collect, analyze, evaluate, and use student data to improve teaching strategies. Files all necessary/routine reporting such as; attendance, discipline, parent contact/reporting. Maintain high academic standards and clear performance goals for all students. Able to maintain the demand of Special Education paperwork and Due Process timelines. Integrate and incorporate the Ojibwa Language and Culture into teaching units and lessons to ensure that all students receive instruction in the Ojibwe Culture. Ensure student, staff & school data is kept confidential in accordance with Federal, State, and Tribal rules and regulations. Comply with reporting standards regarding child abuse or neglect as a mandated reporter for the safety of children. Comply with BIE Reporting Requirement to maintain a minimum attendance rate of 95% or better. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Knowledge of and the ability to follow and apply the policies and procedures of the White Earth Tribal Council and the Circle of Life Academy. Knowledge of the White Earth Reservation history, culture and lifestyles. Knowledge of principles and methods of curriculum design and implementation, teaching and instruction of individuals and groups, and the measurement of teaching effects. Knowledge of human behavior and performance, individual learning styles, and human motivation. Skills at using technology for data collection, reports, and student learning. Skills at communicating in a positive manner with students, staff, parents, and the community-at-large both verbally and in writing. Ability to collect, organize, and evaluate student data. Ability to identify and apply creative teaching methods. Qualifications include: Bachelor?s degree in the subject area or areas and level the candidate is hired to teach. Current Minnesota State K-12 Special Education Teaching License in Developmental Cognitive Disabilities (DCD) or Academic Behavioral Strategist (ABS). Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) would be a bonus. Valid MN Driver?s License and Insurance. Must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug screening.
