About Nasha Shkola Charter School: Nasha Shkola Charter School is a small K–8 public charter school located in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota. Our mission is to provide a strong academic foundation while fostering multilingualism, multicultural understanding, and appreciation of Russian language and Slavic heritage. More than 90% of our students are multilingual learners. Nasha Shkola is not a language immersion school. Core academic instruction is delivered in English using evidence-based curricula aligned with Minnesota standards. Students also receive daily instruction in Russian language and culture as part of our unique heritage-focused educational program.
About the Program
Nasha Shkola operates a small special education program with low caseloads and a strong emphasis on individualized student support. This position primarily involves working one-on-one or in small groups with students receiving special education services.
Responsibilities
- Provide primarily push-in support within general education classrooms, with some one-on-one and small-group instructional support as needed.
- Provide academic, behavioral, and organizational support to individual students and small groups of students receiving special education services.
- Assist in implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) under the direction of licensed special education staff.
- Support students in general education and special education settings.
- Monitor student progress and document observations as directed.
- Assist students with staying engaged, completing assignments, and developing independence.
- Provide supervision and support during instructional and non-instructional times.
- Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and related service providers.
- Maintain confidentiality and professional relationships with students and families.
Qualifications
- Associate degree required.
- Experience working with children in educational, childcare, or related settings preferred.
- Ability to work effectively with students who have diverse learning, behavioral, and communication needs.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
- Experience working with multilingual learners is preferred but not required.
