SUMMARY
Under the direction of the District Technology Coordinator, the Technology Support Specialist provides technical support for district technology systems, services, applications, and equipment. This position is an integral member of the district-wide Technology & Information Systems team and works collaboratively with technology staff, district departments, schools, and vendors to support the effective operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and use of technology throughout the district.
The Technology Support Specialist supports a broad range of district technology, including Apple and Windows computers, mobile devices, classroom and presentation technology, applications, networks, telecommunications, security systems, printing systems, and other technology systems and infrastructure.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties include the following and other responsibilities as assigned.
Technology Systems and Equipment Support
Provide technical support for the installation, configuration, deployment, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and use of district technology systems and equipment, including:
- Apple Mac and Windows desktop and laptop computers
- iPads and other mobile devices
- Interactive displays, Smartboards, projectors, and presentation equipment
- Sound enhancement and classroom audio systems
- Wired and wireless network technologies
- Telephones and telecommunications systems
- Security and access control systems
- Food service technology systems
- Copying, printing, and document management systems
- Digital signage and related display systems
- Other district technology systems and infrastructure
Maintain accurate equipment inventories and assist with the deployment, replacement, and lifecycle management of district technology.
District-Wide Technology Support
Work as an active member of the district-wide Technology & Information Systems team. Collaborate with technology staff, district departments, schools, and vendors to provide consistent, responsive, and effective technology support throughout the district.
Support the operation and troubleshooting of district-wide technology systems, including networks, wireless infrastructure, digital signage, security systems, telecommunications, and other systems supported by the Technology & Information Systems department.
Work collaboratively with team members and vendors to identify and resolve issues that involve multiple technology systems or areas of support.
Application and Systems Support
Provide technical support for a variety of applications and systems across multiple operating systems and platforms, including:
- macOS, Windows, and iOS
- Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Office applications
- Student information systems
- Learning management systems
- Library systems
- Cloud-based applications
- Assessment and testing applications
- Database applications
- Network monitoring applications
- Building security applications
- Virtualization technologies
- Other district applications and systems
Work Requests, Communication, and Documentation
- Process technology work requests from receipt through completion using effective communication, prioritization, troubleshooting, technical, and documentation skills.
- Communicate effectively with staff, users, technology team members, and vendors regarding technology issues, service requests, status updates, and resolutions.
- Develop, maintain, and contribute to technical documentation, procedures, knowledge bases, and self-help materials.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, equipment, configurations, and other relevant technical information.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Education and/or Experience
Preferred: Associate degree and two or more years of experience supporting technology systems in a multi-platform environment, including macOS, Windows, and iOS.
Relevant education, training, certifications, and experience may be considered in determining an applicant''s qualifications.
Industry certifications are preferred, such as:
- Apple Certified Mac Technician (ACMT)
- CompTIA A+
- CompTIA Network+
- Microsoft certifications
- Other relevant technology certifications
Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, governmental regulations, and other technical documentation. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, work documentation, technical procedures, and process documentation. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, staff, students, vendors, and the general public.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret and apply a variety of technical instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to troubleshoot technical problems, determine appropriate solutions, and make sound decisions based on available information.

Rate of Pay | $55,000.00-$65,000.00/yr dependent on qualification and experience. Salary may be pro-rated based on start date. |
