Physical Education Teacher Position Type: Full-time or Part-time Reports to: Principal Position Summary The Physical Education (PE) Teacher at St Mary?s Mission School, Red Lake is responsible for fostering a safe, inclusive, and faith-filled environment where students develop physical skills, teamwork, self-discipline, and respect for themselves and others. The PE Teacher nurtures both the physical and spiritual growth of students through lessons, activities, and individualized support that honor the dignity of each child. In addition to teaching physical education, the PE Teacher partners with K-6 teachers to provide intervention support to help students achieve academic goals. Preference will be given to candidates willing to support other special areas in addition to physical education (e.g. music, art, etc.) depending on qualifications, experience, and interest. This position can be full-or part-time. A sign-on bonus is available. Key Responsibilities Plan, organize, and deliver engaging physical education lessons aligned with state standards and the mission of Catholic education. Foster teamwork, leadership, and sportsmanship through individual and group activities. Adapt lessons to meet the diverse needs, abilities, and cultural backgrounds of all students, with sensitivity Indigenous teachings. Provide intervention support for students by: Implementing targeted strategies to support academic success. Collaborating with classroom teachers to reinforce learning goals. Monitoring progress and documenting interventions in accordance with school guidelines. Offering small-group or one-on-one support when needed. Build strong relationships with families and the Red Lake Nation community to support student growth and wellness. Supervise students safely during indoor and outdoor activities. Maintain accurate records of student progress. Collaborate with faculty, staff, and families to support the holistic development of each student. Participate actively in school-wide events and activities. Serve as a role model for Christian values, demonstrating integrity, compassion, and a commitment to service. Qualifications Bachelor?s degree in Physical Education, Kinesiology, or related field. Current teaching license/certification in Physical Education (or ability to obtain). Previous teaching, intervention, or technology support experience preferred, especially in Catholic or mission school settings. Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills. Commitment to Catholic education, including willingness to support and model the teachings of the Catholic Church. Cultural understanding and respect for the heritage, values, and traditions of the Red Lake Nation. Willing to embrace new technology tools and assist others in using them effectively.
