High School Diploma or G.E.D. Diploma ? Highly Qualified (HQ) status demonstrated through one of the following: ? 60 college credits (or AA/AS degree) with a GPA of 2.0 or higher ? Passing score on the Paraeducator Exam (contact district for information) Preferred ? Similar job-related experience ? Bilingual POSITION SUMMARY: The Instructional Paraeducator is responsible for assisting and encouraging students to learn under the direction of professional staff and supporting students in preparing lessons across subject areas in classrooms, Resource Centers, computer labs, and other educational settings. ESSENTIAL DUTIES: ? Supervise and assist students during instructional and non-instructional activities ? Maintain awareness and observe student activities and behaviors, including communicating rules, expectations, and consequences ? Promote School District rules, policies, procedures, Mission Statement, and Core Values ? Assist in the development and maintenance of a positive learning environment ? Adhere to federal, state, and district student data confidentiality and privacy laws ? Observe, monitor, and communicate student progress to teachers ? Perform record keeping and clerical functions to support administrators and teachers ? Other duties as assigned PHYSICAL FACTORS: ? Ability to stand and/or walk for long periods of time; may be exposed to adverse weather ? Frequent: walking, standing, sitting, hearing, talking, and seeing ?
