Full-time eligible teachers can access the district''s Group Health Plan and Health Savings Accounts (HSA) if enrolled in a high-deductible health plan, with contributions up to $1,042.42/month in 2026-27. If eligible, the school district contribution toward dental insurance is $59.14/month for the 2026-27 school year, and the contribution toward life insurance is $20.69/month for the same period. Sick leave accrues at 12 days annually, with up to 48 hours designated as Earned Sick and Safe Time (ESST). Unused sick leave is unlimited, while ESST accrues up to 20 days. Additionally, teachers have access to bereavement, jury, military, and unpaid childcare leave along with a matched 403(b) plan and professional development opportunities. Reporting Relationship: The Elementary Instructor reports directly to the Building Principal East Grand Forks, MN is a city with a population of approximately 9,000 and located in the heart of the Red River Valley in Northwest Minnesota. It borders Grand Forks, ND and is very close to the University of North Dakota and Northland Community and Technical College. The district''s K-12 enrollment is approximately 1950 students as well as a thriving preschool program. The district has four separate school buildings housing grades PreK-2, 3-5, 6-8 and 9-12. Position Summary: The Elementary Instructor will be given the great responsibility of continuing our long standing commitment to academic excellence. The ideal candidate will be passionate about fostering a positive learning environment, committed to the academic and social growth of each student, and skilled in creating engaging lessons aligned with Minnesota State Standards. Essential Duties: The Kindergarten Teacher will be responsible for developing lesson plans, delivering developmentally appropriate and differentiated instruction, and conducting formative and summative assessments aligned with the Minnesota Academic Standards to support the academic, social-emotional, and developmental needs of a diverse population of young learners. The teacher will establish a safe, welcoming, and engaging classroom environment that promotes early literacy, foundational math skills, independence, positive behavior, and a love of learning. In addition, the teacher will build positive relationships with students and families and work collaboratively with parents, colleagues, specialists, and staff to support student growth and success. The teacher will also communicate regularly with families regarding student progress and collaborate with colleagues to identify and respond to individual student needs. Key Responsibilities: Instruction and Lesson Planning: Develop engaging, developmentally appropriate lessons aligned with Minnesota State Standards. Classroom Management: Create a safe, welcoming, and structured classroom that promotes positive behavior and independence. Student Support: Support the academic, social-emotional, and developmental needs of all kindergarten students. Student Assessment and Progress Monitoring: Monitor student progress and use assessment data to adjust instruction and support growth. Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with staff and families to support student learning, development, and success. Other: Other duties as assigned Qualifications: Education: Bachelor''s degree in Elementary Education or a related field. Licensure: Valid Minnesota teaching license for elementary education (K - 5 or 6), or eligibility to obtain one. Experience: Kindergarten or early elementary teaching experience is preferred. Skills: Strong classroom management and organizational skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency in integrating technology into the classroom. Ability to adapt teaching methods to suit individual student needs.
