District-Wide — School-Based Speech-Language Pathologist (.6fte)
ISD 361 (International Falls Public Schools) is seeking a dedicated, student-centered SLP (Speech-Language Pathologist) to provide in-person speech and language services to students across the district, including Falls Elementary School, West End Elementary, and Falls High School. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with special education staff, general education teachers, related service providers, families, and administration to identify, assess, and support students with communication needs in the least restrictive environment.
Required Qualifications
Valid Minnesota license as a Speech-Language Pathologist issued by the Professional Educator Licensing and Standards Board (PELSB), OR licensure/eligibility for licensure through the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) with willingness to obtain PELSB licensure as required for school-based practice.
Master''s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
Knowledge of special education law, due process requirements, and Individualized Education Program (IEP) development and implementation, including eligibility criteria for Speech or Language Impairment (SLI) under Minnesota special education rules.
Ability to administer, score, and interpret standardized and informal speech-language assessments to determine eligibility and guide programming.
Strong collaboration, communication, and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
Experience providing services across a range of ages (early childhood through grade 12).
Experience with articulation/phonology, receptive/expressive language, fluency, voice, social pragmatic communication, and augmentative and alternative communication (AAC).
Experience implementing evidence-based, structured intervention practices within a Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) framework.
Experience with Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS).
Training or experience in Trauma-Informed Practices and their application in therapy and classroom settings.
Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, including OT, PT, school psychologists, and special education staff, to support student success.
Experience with dynamic assessment and progress monitoring tools for speech-language goals.
Essential Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive speech-language evaluations to determine eligibility for special education services under Minnesota criteria.
Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals and services in compliance with federal and state regulations.
Provide direct and consultative speech-language therapy services aligned with students'' IEP goals across district sites.
Collaborate with classroom teachers and related service providers to support inclusive practices and communication access across settings.
Monitor student progress using data to inform therapy planning and instructional recommendations.
Apply MTSS and PBIS frameworks to support communication, academic, and behavioral growth across tiers.
Incorporate trauma-informed strategies to create a safe, supportive therapeutic environment.
Communicate effectively with families and multidisciplinary team members regarding student progress and programming.
Maintain accurate, timely documentation of evaluations, service logs, and progress notes in compliance with district and state requirements.
Foster a positive, supportive environment that promotes communication development and overall student success.
