Visual Content Specialist
Totino-Grace High School is seeking a creative, collaborative, and highly skilled Visual Content Specialist to join our Marketing & Communications team. This role serves as the school’s principal photographer, videographer, and visual content creator, bringing the Totino-Grace story to life through compelling photography, video, graphics, and design.
The Visual Content Specialist will create original visual content that engages prospective families, current students and families, alumni, donors, and the broader community. Work produced in this role will appear across the school website, social media channels, print publications, admissions materials, signage, event screens, and advancement campaigns.
The ideal candidate is a visual storyteller who can take a project from concept to completion, is comfortable working with students and adults in a school environment, and brings both strong creative instincts and excellent organizational skills.
Primary Responsibilities
Photography, Video & Visual Storytelling
Serve as the school’s primary photographer and videographer, producing high-quality content that reflects the mission, values, and spirit of Totino-Grace.
Produce photo and video projects from concept through completion, including scripting, storyboarding, scheduling, shooting, editing, producing, and delivery.
Capture and edit compelling photography and video for marketing, communications, admissions, advancement, athletics, academics, activities, and school events.
Assist in or lead creative storyboarding, concept development, and production planning.
Schedule and coordinate photo and video shoots, including locations, timing, equipment, and subjects.
Apply professional standards for composition, lighting, audio, editing, color, and visual storytelling.
Ensure all visual content aligns with established brand standards and presents Totino-Grace in a professional and authentic way.
Stay current with emerging creative techniques, technologies, platforms, and visual storytelling trends.
Marketing & Communications
Collaborate closely with the Marketing & Communications Manager to contribute to and uphold the Totino-Grace brand.
Participate in project planning, creative development, and brainstorming sessions.
Prepare and present original content proposals and creative concepts.
Attend weekly “In the Know” meetings and creative brainstorming sessions.
Meet regularly with the Marketing & Communications Manager and project partners to discuss priorities, timelines, and deliverables.
Consult with faculty, staff, and department representatives regarding project requests, providing creative direction and guidance on timelines, scope, and expectations.
Assist with creating, scheduling, and publishing content across Totino-Grace social media channels.
Coordinate and produce recurring school communications, including assisting with Insights, the weekly community newsletter.
Follow and contribute to the production calendar and content calendar.
Track and respond to visual content needs according to established priorities and schedules.
Project & Asset Management
Develop and clearly communicate production timelines for photo and video projects.
Consistently communicate project status through the production calendar and with project partners.
Manage multiple concurrent projects while meeting deadlines and maintaining a high level of quality.
Identify, maintain, and manage the equipment and software necessary to produce high-quality visual and audio content.
Establish and maintain an organized, accessible, and shareable digital asset management system for photography, video, graphics, and other visual content.
Engage professionally and positively with students, faculty, staff, alumni, families, and community members to generate authentic and meaningful content.
Required Qualifications
Demonstrated professional experience in photography, videography, and graphic design, supported by a portfolio and video reel submitted with the application.
Portfolio review is required before an interview is scheduled.
Proficiency with professional camera systems, including manual exposure, lens selection, and shooting in variable and low-light conditions.
Proficiency with professional video editing software, preferably Final Cut Pro; experience with Adobe Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve is also acceptable.
Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud, including Photoshop, Lightroom, Illustrator, and InDesign.
Working understanding of graphic design fundamentals, including typography, layout, hierarchy, color, and the ability to work within an established brand system.
Working knowledge of production audio, including lavalier and shotgun microphones, as well as basic location lighting.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver high-quality finished work on deadline.
Strong communication, organization, collaboration, and project-management skills.
Ability to work effectively with students, faculty, staff, families, and community members.
Willingness to work a schedule that regularly includes some evenings and weekends.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in photography, film, video production, graphic design, communications, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
Experience preparing files for commercial print production, including bleeds, color modes, and coordination with outside printers and vendors.
Experience creating motion graphics.
Experience with Adobe Express, Canva, or similar tools for rapid-turnaround social graphics.
Experience producing vertical-format video for Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts.

Compensation & Benefits
Competitive salary commensurate with experience ($50,000 - $65,000). Comprehensive benefits including health, dental and vision insurance, retirement plan with employer contribution, paid time off, and professional-development opportunities.
