Night Lead Custodian – Orono Elementary School
Pay Rate: $22.56 – $25.07/hr + $0.50/hr Evening Shift Differential
Annual Pay Incentive: 1% - 2.5% + $150 Annual Service Pay.
Schedule: Full-Time (8 Hours/Day) | Evening Shift
Location: Long Lake, MN (Orono Public Schools)

Key Responsibilities:
This is an 8 hour/day position.
Responsibilities include:
Leadership & Operations
- Motivates custodians to provide a clean and safe environment for teachers, students, and staff.
- Collaborates with Buildings and Grounds leadership and building principals to identify priorities.
- Adjusts to the needs of supervisors and principals to meet cleaning objectives.
- Monitors equipment and supplies to avoid delays in service delivery.
- Collaborates with other custodial team members to provide support across facilities.
Facilities & Event Care
- Perform routine and project cleaning of assigned areas.
- Assist with set-up and take-down of school activities.
- Keep sidewalks and other outdoor walkways clear of snow and ice.
- Perform other duties and assume other responsibilities as assigned or as needed.
Qualifications
- Licenses:
- Certified Pool Operator License required (or ability to obtain).
- Appropriate boiler license required (or ability to obtain).
- Skills & Work Style:
- Focus on details and commitment to doing a good job required.
- Experience cleaning in a commercial setting preferred.
- Ability to get along with district employees and be courteous and helpful with students and general public.
- Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand and/or walk, twist, bend, stoop, squat, and/or climb stairs.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
- Ability to work in a variety of conditions and environments (e.g., dusty, wet, cold, hot, high humidity, noisy, indoors, outdoors, at heights, and in small spaces).
