Guest Music Director/Rehearsal Accompanist: Spring 2027 PURPOSE: Shattuck St. Mary?s (SSM), an independent college preparatory boarding/day school (grades 6-12) in Faribault, Minnesota, is seeking a Guest Music Director for the Spring Musical. This is a part-time, short-term position for March and April 2027. The Spring Musical is scheduled to premiere April 22, 2027 with additional shows on April 23 and 24. The Guest Music Director will collaborate with a team including the Theater Director and will report to and work closely with the Department Chair for the Performing and Visual Arts. (PAVA) Compensation: $2,500 RESPONSIBILITES: Collaborate with the Musical team including the Director of Theater, Pit Orchestra Director, and PAVA Coordinator throughout the production process. Participate in three days of student cast auditions on January 18,19 and 20. Hold rehearsals beginning at least 5 weeks from premiere with the last week being Tech Week. Attend rehearsals at varying intervals First three weeks in vocal intensive rehearsals (2-3 hrs/day 5 days a week) Attend most rehearsals for two-three weeks observing and providing notes/direct instruction (2 hrs/day 5 days a week) Attend all rehearsals during Tech Week (2-3 hrs/day 6 days/week). Coach voice for students at all rehearsals and performances. Premiere the production on April 22 with additional shows on April 23 and a matinee on the 24 th . Help with strike so Newhall Theater is left in its pre-play condition. QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants should have experience with directing musicals and working with students, grades 6 ? 12. Experience delivering voice lessons. Strong keyboard skills and ability to play keyboard part for performances and rehearsals preferred. Experience as an accompanist. Bachelor?s degree in vocal music or vocal music education preferred Experience with three or more musical productions is strongly preferred.
