Job Title: Speech Language Pathologist Department: Raleigh Academy Supervisor: FLSA Status: Exempt Summary A Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) at Duluth Edison Charter Schools (DECS) is committed to academic and personal excellence for every student. With an understanding of what it means to be a lifelong learner, the SLP will participate in ongoing professional development goal setting, learning and reflection in each school year. The Speech Language Pathologist will work as a team member in the assigned house team. Essential Duties and Responsibilities · Provide research-based speech and language services identified on the individualized education programs (IEPs) of students with disabilities. · Provide speech and language services in a variety of service delivery models. · Comply with all state and federal special education rules and regulations. · Schedule and hold IEP meetings within required timelines. · Facilitate IEP meetings · Collaborate with Special Education Lead and/or Special Education Coordinator and IEP members to develop IEPs. · Complete IEPs and progress notes in a timely manner. · Assess students'' communication skills (articulation, fluency, voice, expressive, and receptive language, etc.) for the purpose of identifying communication disorders, determining program eligibility and developing recommendations for treatment. · Instruct assigned support staff for the purpose of providing information related to students IEP goals and/or accommodations. · Maintain records and billing in a manner consistent that complies with any regulatory requirements and is consistent with district practices. · Collaborate with house teams. · Create and work toward ongoing communication with parents in a variety of forms. · Implement school and district policies and procedures. · Create and manage a PBIS based learning environment that enables students to feel safe, be creative, and develop excellence. · Model the behaviors expected of the students. · Implement and teach the core values established by our school as the focus of instruction and discussion when appropriate. · Write, implement, and evaluate his or her own professional development plans. · Attend house and staff meetings. · Participate in assigned student learning conferences. · Other duties may be assigned. Education and/or Experience Master''s degree from an accredited four-year college or university or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Minnesota Board of Teaching license required. ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence preferred.
